Ada Main Street will relive its glory days Friday as Ada Main Street board hosts “Cruising Main” 6 to 9 p.m. with Ada fireworks display following at 9:30 p.m. at Wintersmith Park.
Ada Main Street Director Gina Stowers said the idea was first proposed by board member Kevin Holland.
“Cruising Main was one of his favorite things to do as a teenager,” she said. “We just decided that we’d bring it back for one night, get people down here and promote downtown.”
Stowers said any cars or motorcycles are welcome and Ada Main Street will have a “Pit Stop” in front of its office selling pop, snacks and T-shirts. The first 50 cars will get a free goody bag. She said some Main Street businesses will be open late that night.
“It’s for the whole family. We’re going to do prizes and giveaways. KTLS and Tom Runnells is going to do a live remote and he’s going to do giveaways of his own,” Stowers said.
